Company Overview

CE Engineering was founded in Sacramento, California  USA, in 1989 to provide third party computer hardware service and support for users of HP NonStop Himalaya (Tandem) based newspaper publishing systems. The company quickly grew and diversified to produce a range of publishing systems and software also based on Tandem’s fault tolerant platform. CE (USA) joined the Tandem Alliance Partner program early in 1997 and in October of 1997 became a Tandem Value Added Reseller. In February of 1998, following Tandem’s merger with Compaq, CE (USA) also became a Compaq Reseller.

The European office, CE Engineering (Europe) Ltd., was opened in March 1996. The role of the European office was to focus less on the newspaper publishing industry and more on the core markets for HP/Compaq NonStop Himalaya (Tandem) computer equipment, banking, finance, telecommunications and defence.

In June 2000, CE Engineering (Europe) Ltd. completed a management buy out from its US Parent and is now wholly owned by the UK management team. In 2002 the Company’s name was changed to CE Engineering (International) Ltd. to reflect its expansion into the global market place and BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Accreditation was achieved.

CE Engineering (International) now provides a range of third party services for HP/Compaq NonStop Himalaya (Tandem) users including system and peripheral repairs or replacement, system upgrades, hardware and software support, technical training and consultancy, system de-installation and disposal, system relocation and disaster recovery. Refurbished Tandem equipment can be sold outright or rented. Second user systems can be purchased outright or re-marketed on a commission basis. We hold a large inventory of used and refurbished equipment and through close links with other HP/Compaq NonStop Himalaya (Tandem) users and brokers around the world have access to volumes of additional equipment. CE can supply anything from TNSII’s to the latest S-Series Himalaya’s and their associated peripherals. We can also provide a very cost effective maintenance support package.

In recent years, CE Engineering has broadened its horizons and now has a global customer base with customers in Australasia, Asia, mainland Europe, Scandinavia, South America, The Middle East and the United Kingdom. We supply equipment and services to all the major banks in the United Kingdom and many of the major financial institutions overseas. We also supply equipment, services and consultancy to a number of HP/Compaq offices around the world.
